Stayed at Alamanda for 10 days. Mr Vincent and his staff were very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Great location, great beach, nice pool which gets very little use and rooms were about as expected for the price we paid. Kitchenette and dishes provided looked functional for those who may choose to have a lunch/snack in the room although we did not. Great balconies and patio furniture for sitting outside in the evening.
Breakfast was very good as was the service. Intended to go to Grand Case for dinner but the food and wine in Village D'Orient was great so we stayed there (Le Piment and Little Italy get 2 thumbs up). The Village is literally a one minute walk from Alamanda. We will definitely return for a seventh trip to St. Martin and would definitely return to Alamanda.
“Likely the best location on Orient Bay”
Nice European feel, good service, great breakfasts. Overall we loved it and I would go back! It's not a luxurious American style hotel, but I think you will love the European feel, service and ultimate location. I would gladly go back and recommend this hotel to a friend.
Hard to believe there's a more beautiful beach on earth.
Alamanda has best location on the beach. Right in the center of everything. Located adjacent to Orient Village where you find 4 to 5 top notch restaurants. A little pricey but hey your on vacation so splurge. Good value places to eat and relax with a cold one on the beach. Be sure and check out Grand Case for best French Food short of Europe.
Hotel is cozy fantastic staff nice breakfast included.
Skip getting the Internet and use it free at Bikini beach right next door on the beach. Also best place for lunch and an evening drink. For service on the beach be sure look up Cedric. Massage is excellent at hut on the beach. If any negative might be slightly hard bed. We visit here twice a year and just cant have a more relaxing vacation. If like clothing optional try Tiko Tiko nude sailing.
“Fantastic Location on Best Beach”
Our third stay at Alamanda. Needless to say we love the place. Best location on best beach on St. Martins. The people are fantastic. You must understand that this is a small French hotel on a non American style older town square. No frills such as workout room or room service but the location is really fantastic. We had a car and went into Margot once.
The food at Grand Case was as usually good, our favorite is 'll Nuttino' by far our favorite and a great view.
The food at Orient Village was just as good and if you want to relax it is better than driving into town, especially since everyone told us that the Gendarmes are really cracking down on drinking and driving. We ate in the Village most of the time, 'Little Italy' was very good and the little French restaurant next door that serves Tapis was great, and Tapis is more reasonable and a better lite meal than the big dinners that most places push.
There is a new market called U S Market and it is great, much better selection and prices that the little local places. We wanted to relax, walk the beach at all times of the day, eat in beach bars and go to the little local restaurants. Drank at Bikini Beach Bar and Corina was wonderful. At Alamanda Tiffiney helpful as usual. Our vacation couldn't have been better..
